Young Woman and the Sea
Young Woman and the Sea’ opens in US cinemas today. Costume designer Gabriele Binder researched historical swimwear for this production and found suitable costume pieces. We added a large number of costumes from the production to our stock.
Based on a true story, the film tells the tale of Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Ederle (Daisy Ridley) who, against all odds and hostility in a patriarchal society, makes it onto the Olympic swimming team and pursues her goal of swimming the 21-mile English Channel from France to England.
