Stella. A Life.

Cinema release for “Stella. A Life.” The film is based on the life story of Stella Goldschlag, a young German Jew growing up in Berlin under the Nazi regime. When she has to go into hiding with her parents in 1943, her life turns into a guilty tragedy. A betrayal led to her being caught by the Gestapo, tortured and turned into a “snatcher”: in order to save herself and her parents from deportation to Auschwitz, Stella began systematically betraying other Jews. From September 1943 until the end of the war, Stella Goldschlag handed over hundreds of Jewish fellow citizens to the Gestapo. Costume designer Thomas Oláh has rented costumes from our historical collection from 1930-1950 for this production.
