European Film Awards 2026
The 2026 were all about diversity, creativity and the special significance of European cinema. The festive atmosphere in Berlin clearly demonstrated how important this event is for Europe: it brings together filmmakers from all countries, promotes cultural exchange and shows that film is much more than entertainment – it is a mirror of our society and our shared European identity.
We congratulate costume designer Sabrina Krämer on her award in the ‘European Costume Designer’ category for ‘In die Sonne schauen’ (Sound of Falling). Also nominated were Ursula Patzak for “Duse” and Michaela Horáčková Hořejší for ‘Franz’.
This year, Theaterkunst is a partner of the film awards. With a guided tour of our premises, we expanded the supporting programme of the award weekend to include the costume department and gave some members of the European Film Academy an exclusive insight into our costume collection.
The 2026 European Film Awards have once again shown that Europe can tell beautiful, inspiring and emotional stories that connect countries and generations. See you in Athens in 2027!
