Dear friends of Theaterkunst, just like our colleagues, our newsletter is back from holiday. Well-rested and full of energy, we’re looking forward to the coming months and some exciting productions. We’re ready!
The fifth and final series of the hit ARD series “Babylon Berlin” has been airing for a week. Many of the costumes and some special costumes are bespoke costumes from our atelier. Costume designer Pierre-Yves Gayraud says of the series: “These ten years have been a fantastic playground, inspired by the 1920s and 1930s.” You can find out more about the background to the series under THEATERKUNST & BABYLON BERLIN.
To mark the cinema release of “Fatherland”, we’re speaking to Polish costume designer Aleksandra Staszko in THEATERKUNST TALK about her previous work and the particular challenges of costume design for a black-and-white film.
