Dear friends of Theaterkunst, this year’s German Film Award in the “Best Costume Design” category goes to Sabrina Krämer for “Sound of Falling”! We offer our warmest congratulations on winning the LOLA! The film, directed by Mascha Schilinski, won awards in a total of ten categories, making it the big winner of the evening. Under THEATERKUNST TALK you will find our interview with Sabrina Krämer about her LOLA, her work on this film and her passion for costume design.
As in previous years, we were once again partners of the German Film Awards in 2026 and supported the ceremony with selected costumes from our collection. Costume designer Julia Kneusels and stylist Victoria Beck were once again responsible for the production; for the second year running, they created impressive looks with their keen eye for the perfect appearance, ensuring some real showstoppers on stage. In June, our cinematic gaze turns to the screens of southern Germany as the Munich Film Festival takes place. Once again this year, the festival features a wide range of films and series whose costume designers have drawn inspiration from Theaterkunst. We will publish the full list on our website when the Filmfest opens on 26 June 2026. But we’d like to mention today that the opening film, “Fatherland” (costume design: Aleksandra Staszko), features costumes from our collection.
