Dear friends of Theaterkunst, On International Women’s Day (8 March), we celebrated the creative women behind the scenes of film who are making film history with their art! To mark the occasion, purple embroidery thread in various shades was unpacked and the needle was swung. The result ♀ can be seen as a film clip on our Instagram channel.
The nominations for the German Film Awards 2025 were announced today. You can find out which costume designers are in the running for the coveted trophy under THEATRE ART & AWARDS.
This issue features two interviews with costume designers. We visited Freya Herrmann in the north-east of the city on the set of ‘Marzahn Mon Amour’ and spoke to her about her work on the series. Juliane Maier and Christian Röhrs are the costume design team behind the film ‘Rosenthal’. They also answered our questions and give us an outlook on what they have in store for 2025. Both interviews can be read under THEATERKUNST TALK.
