Dear friends of Theaterkunst, we begin this newsletter with the news that brought a huge sigh of relief to the entire film industry: An agreement has finally been reached that brings the actors’ strike to an end! After 118 days of work stoppage, everyone is looking forward to getting back to work. The agreement reached with the actor’s union SAG-AFTRA includes higher salaries, but notably also protection against the use of artificial intelligence.
The series “German House”, based on a novel by Annette Hess, has launched on Disney+. Numerous costumes made in our atelier were used in this production. Read more about it in this month’s Theaterkunst Atelier section.
In this month’s THEATERKUNST TALK, costume designer Stefanie Bieker talks about her work on the ZDF docudrama “Ich bin! Margot Friedländer”. In the interview you’ll also learn about her hopes and wishes for the future of costume design.
