Dear friends of Theaterkunst, …and the Oscar for “Best Costume Design” 2024 goes to Holly Waddington for her creative work on the film “Poor Things”. The ‘man of gold’ is in good company, joining Waddington’s BAFTA award and her Costume Designers Guild Award. Another film that made use of our costumes was “Zone of Interest”, which won the Oscar for “Best International Feature Film”, among other awards! Congratulations from Theaterkunst! The nominations for the German Film Award 2024 have been announced. We are delighted that the three nominees for “Best Costume Design” have chosen to work with our costume house. All information can be found at THEATERKUNST & GERMAN FILM AWARD.
Chanti is back! After a seven-year break, Chantal returns to the big screen. Building on her reputation as the wisecracking troublemaker in all three “Suck me Shakespeer” (“Fack ju Göhte”) films, she now stars in her own spin-off, playing an influencer without followers who falls into a fairytale world by way of an antique magic mirror. For the historical part of the film, costume designer Esther Walz worked together with our atelier team. In the section THEATERKUNST BESPOKE you can get a glimpse of the sketches, fabric selection and of course the finished costumes.
