Newsletter July/August 2023
Dear friends of Theaterkunst, after a short summer break, we’re back with another newsletter. Not only that, we’re back in Bavaria! As of August 1st, Theaterkunst has returned to southern Germany, to the town of Penzing. More on that in the section Theaterkunst Penzing.
At the end of August, we’ll hear “Roll it!” for the 80th time at the Venice International Film Festival. Costumes from our collection will be making appearances on the Lido starting on August 30th, including in competition films such as “The Theory of Everything” (costume designer: Pola Kardum), “King’s Land” (costume designer: Kristina Ilander), “Poor Things” (costume designer: Holly Waddington) and “Origin” (costume designer: Siba Fallahi, Natalie Uhlstein). The project “Aufwind” (costume designer: Gudrun Leyendecker) is nominated in the category “Venice Immersive”, the festival’s VR section.
In Theaterkunst Talk, Monika Gebauer speaks to us about her work on the children’s film “Kannawoniwasein!”, which opens in German cinemas on August 17th.
