Newsletter February 2023
Dear friends of Theaterkunst, we might as well have called this month’s newsletter the “list of nominations” – that’s how excited we are to see so many productions featuring our work in the lists of nominations for the various awards. Our congratulations go out to the nominees and the preselected films for the German Film Award, the Grimme Award and the Oscars.
This is the time when everything in Berlin revolves around cinema. The red carpets are being rolled out all over the city, and the cinephiles are lining up for the screenings. Costume designers from eleven productions featured in the Berlinale’s wide-ranging program made use of our collection to create their designs. Thanks for the trust that you’ve placed in us!
We speak with costume designer Esther Walz about the film “Der vermessene Mensch”, which will have its premiere at the Berlinale. She explains to us why even the best costume design will only shine if all the departments work together.
