Dear friends of Theaterkunst, the month of April brought not only the first hints of summer, but also a number of upcoming national and international productions that again had the costume designers coming to Theaterkunst in search of the right look. The sewing machines are rattling in the atelier, countless buttons are waiting to be sewn on in the right place. There is much to do!
April also saw the 20th edition of the ACHTUNG BERLIN film festival. This year we’re one of the festival’s partners, and the official sponsor of the prize for the category “Best Costume Design”. Congratulations to Chiara Minchio for her costume design in „The Diaries of Adam and Eve“! Impressions from the festival and a photo of the winner can be found in the section THEATERKUNST & ACHTUNG BERLIN.
In this month’s THEATERKUNST TALK we speak with Swedish costume designer Kristina Ilander. She worked with us for the production “The King’s Land”, starring Mads Mikkelsen among others. Jättebra!
