Das Geschenk
On 30 October, “Das Geschenk” premieres on Netflix – a biting yet heart-warming comedy about a child’s birthday party that gets out of hand. Marlene, a single mum, wants to throw the perfect party for her son Theo at her brother’s country house. But then issues surrounding parenting, gender roles and parental principles – as well as a rather dubious present – all come to a head.
Costume designer Petra Kray brings the characters to life with a keen sense of humour and personality: from the banker’s look to children’s birthday party outfits. Her costumes highlight the contrasts within the family.
