Kleo – Staffel 2
The second season of the popular series “Kleo” starts on Netflix on 25 July 2024. The hunt for the red suitcase continues: ex-GDR spy Kleo wants to get the red suitcase back and destroy it once and for all, but she is targeted by various secret services. And that’s not all: while Kleo holds the future of Europe in her hands, she is catapulted deeper into her own past than she would like.
Costume designer Ramona Klinikowski has once again put together some of the costumes from our collection. Robin Gooch’s suit was also made in our studio.
In an interview about the series at http://www.kleo-pressekit.de/staffel-2 Ramona Klinikowski talks about Kleo’s special look: “There were no real role models in that sense. Nevertheless, we always said that Kleo combines a bit of the spirit of Katharina Witt and Nina Hagen, two women from the era in which the series is set. This is also reflected in the costumes. With the different outfits, we want to emphasise the different facets of Kleo’s personality. Her role as a former model agent of the GDR is emphasised by sporty elements in her clothing. And her grandad’s clothes, which she wears in some scenes, emphasise her masculine look as a female badass heroine. In contrast, she wears these childish pyjamas, which again show her vulnerability.”
