Leibniz – Chronicle of a Lost Painting
Cinema release of the historical film ‘Leibniz – Chronicle of a Lost Painting’. Set in 1704, the film tells the story of a painting. Queen Charlotte misses her former teacher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and commissions a painting of him. The creation of the painting poses great challenges and leads to a passionate exchange between Leibniz and the painter Aaltje van de Meer about the relationship between art and reality.
Costume designer Esther Amuser has selected costumes from our historical department for this production.
