Actors’ union SAG-AFTRA negotiates agreement

Dear costume designer, Yesterday we received the good news that the actors’ strike in the US has ended after 118 days. The actors’ union SAG-AFTRA negotiated a substantial pay increase and agreed better protection for the use of artificial intelligence. We have great respect for the commitment of all the striking actors. It is important to stand up for fair pay and for regulations on how to use artificial intelligence in the film industry in future. As a costume house, like lots of companies in our industry, it has been challenging for us over the past few months. Some projects that had already been planned were called of, others postponed indefinitely. Reservations, as well as appointments were cancelled. Since June the future has been uncertain. Now it’s back to full speed ahead! We are much better at moving than standing still. We have made the best possible use of the time and you will benefit from this with your upcoming projects. We have opened two new locations to be even closer to your projects. Since September you can find us in Penzing near Munich and from November on also in Vienna, Austria. In addition to our two meeting rooms, we now also have a 20 square metre production room in Berlin that can be rented on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can also hire rooms for your team in all the other locations (Cologne, Penzing, Vienna, Budapest and Warsaw). The collection has been further digitalised and sorted. We are fully prepared for your upcoming contemporary and historical projects. Feel free to contact us at any time! We look forward to hearing from you! Your Theaterkunst
