Ponies
The eight-part thriller series ‘Ponies’ is currently showing on SKY. Moscow, 1977: Bea (Emilia Clarke) and Twila (Haley Lu Richardson) work as secretaries at the American Embassy. To the secret services of the Cold War, they are simply ‘ponies’ – persons of no interest. That changes abruptly when their husbands die under mysterious circumstances. Without further ado, the CIA recruits them as agents.
Anastasia Magoutas is responsible for the costume design, whose work visually characterises the characters with precision and demonstrates a keen sense of zeitgeist, colours and details. Some costumes, such as boots, dresses, jackets, coats and bags, come from our 70s department.
