Olivia
“Olivia” is available from today on the ZDF Mediathek and will be broadcast on ZDF on 13 May 2026. The film tells the life story of Olivia Jones (Johannes Hegemann): drag icon, entertainer, local restaurant owner and public advocate for tolerance and diversity. Even as a child, Oliver loved dressing up as a woman. In the Lower Saxony countryside, this led to rejection even from his own family. It was only his move to Hamburg that opened up new opportunities for him.
Costume designer Bettina C. Proske used various costumes for flashbacks to Oliver’s childhood in this special TV film, and found further costumes here that are perfectly suited to life in St. Pauli.
