Sweater „The Brutalist“
Costume designer Kate Forbes teamed up with knitwear designer Ilana Blumberg to reproduce the original knitwear from “The Brutalist”. The costume attracted a lot of attention after the film’s release, and both we and the costume designer received countless enquiries about where to buy the jumper worn by Adrian Brody.
A 300 limited edition reproduction of the renowned sweater is available to pre-order 3pm GMT 15th November 2025: https://www.brutalistsweater.com/
Facts // Reproduction of the vintage sweater, with small adjustments to the design including a deeper rib cuff and slightly longer sleeve length than the original. Original light warm grey. 100% pure new wool.

Creation for baroque opera “Octavia”
We made costumes for the baroque opera ‘Octavia’ by Reinhard Keiser, which was performed by the Lautten Compagney at the Handel Festival in Halle/Saale from 7 to 9 June. For the two opera singers Frieda Jolande Barck and Georg Bochow of the ensemble, we made one costume piece each from pearls. The colleagues in our studio created a chain maille shirt from around 200 classic cream-white beads with a diameter of 3.5 cm. For the black bustier, 3,000 black, faceted jet beads were used, threaded onto jewellery wire using the net technique. Special attention had to be paid to the weight of the beads and the shape of both pieces.
Lene Schwind and Louis Vincent Platzer were responsible for the costume design of the opera ‘Octavia’.

Rosenthal
ZDF is dedicating a ‘TV film of the week’ to its unforgotten quizmaster Hans Rosenthal (‘Dalli Dalli’) for his 100th birthday on 2 April 2025, which shows the entertainer from a previously largely unknown side: in the conflict between show business and his past as a Jewish person in Germany. The film is now available in the ZDF media library and will celebrate its TV premiere on 7 April.
Costume designer Christian Röhrs and Juliane Maier provide insights into the zeitgeist of the 1970s with flashbacks to Rosenthal’s past. Several tailor-made suits were made in our studio for Florian Lukas as Hans Rosenthal.

Chantal im Märchenland
Chanti is bäck! After a seven-year break, Chantal returns to the big screen. As the problem pupil in “Fack ju Göhte”, she made a name for herself in three instalments. Now she is an influencer without followers and finds herself in a fairytale world through an ancient magic mirror. For the historical part of the film, costume designer Esther Walz borrowed a large number of costumes from the historical collection.
Costume designer Esther Walz also worked together with our atelier team to create eight historical renaissance-style dresses. She selected brocade in various colors, which was then transformed into the courtly outfits by our wardrobe mistress and three other custom tailors. In order to accurately reflect the era, the dresses hade to be reinforced with the proper supporting structures. In this case, the team constructed eight Spanish hoop dresses and the corresponding hip cushions. The dresses feature necklines adorned with lace and pearls, elaborate lacing and a peplum that is in keeping with the era. We can’t wait to see them in their full glory on the big screen.

Making Of for “The Empress”
In a Making Of for “The Empress” the focus was put on the costumes as well as costume designer Gabriela Reumer. A nice recognition for her and her team as well as costume design itself. “All the costumes she made for Elisabeth but also for all the other roles capture the essence of the characters so well and so multilayered.” – Devrim Lingnau (Elisabeth, not Sisi).
