50 years Europa-Park Rust

To mark the 50th anniversary of Europa-Park Rust, an image film was produced that takes us on a journey through time from 1970 to the present day. We follow the protagonist Anneliese through her life, which is closely linked to the theme park. Costume designers Carlotta Dering & Marlene van Dieken from the “Dering von Dieken” studio have found various items of children’s, women’s and men’s clothing from different decades for this wild ride through the past.

100 years S-Bahn Berlin

For the campaign celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Berlin S-Bahn, costume designer Mara Laibacher relied on our collection to create the perfect look through the decades. Since August 8, 1924, the ochre-yellow and ruby-red carriages have been transporting passengers through the city. Through times of war, rubble, protests, the division of the city, reunification, World Cup summer fairytales and many other smaller and larger events, the S-Bahn has accompanied us every day.

Happy 100th birthday, dear S-Bahn Berlin!

Buchcover für Hape Kerkeling

Costume designer Smilla Hebener has created the perfect look for the cover of Hape Kerkeling’s new book. In ‘Gebt mir etwas Zeit: Meine Chronik der Ereignisse’ (ET: 25.9.2024), entertainer Hape Kerkeling delves deep into the eventful history of his ancestors. He talks about his childhood in the seventies and the heyday of TV entertainment, about love, providence and the Dutch Golden Age. He takes us back to the beginnings of his television career and to the early days of the Kerckrings, to the flourishing Amsterdam of the 17th century. (Piper Verlag)

Smilla Hebener found what she was looking for in our historical costume hall.

Actors’ union SAG-AFTRA negotiates agreement

Dear costume designer, Yesterday we received the good news that the actors’ strike in the US has ended after 118 days. The actors’ union SAG-AFTRA negotiated a substantial pay increase and agreed better protection for the use of artificial intelligence. We have great respect for the commitment of all the striking actors. It is important to stand up for fair pay and for regulations on how to use artificial intelligence in the film industry in future. As a costume house, like lots of companies in our industry, it has been challenging for us over the past few months. Some projects that had already been planned were called of, others postponed indefinitely. Reservations, as well as appointments were cancelled. Since June the future has been uncertain. Now it’s back to full speed ahead! We are much better at moving than standing still. We have made the best possible use of the time and you will benefit from this with your upcoming projects. We have opened two new locations to be even closer to your projects. Since September you can find us in Penzing near Munich and from November on also in Vienna, Austria. In addition to our two meeting rooms, we now also have a 20 square metre production room in Berlin that can be rented on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You can also hire rooms for your team in all the other locations (Cologne, Penzing, Vienna, Budapest and Warsaw). The collection has been further digitalised and sorted. We are fully prepared for your upcoming contemporary and historical projects. Feel free to contact us at any time! We look forward to hearing from you! Your Theaterkunst
